Research interests

Doctor in Clinical and Health Psychology from the University of Barcelona, she is director of the Doctorate in Psychology, as well as the master's degree in psychology. Associate Professor of the Faculty of Psychology at the University of La Sabana where she carries out her research and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My work has focused on the understanding, analysis and modification of risk and protection factors associated with risk behaviors, mainly the use of psychoactive substances, antisocial behaviors and self-harm, in order to develop prevention programs that increase mental health of children and adolescents. Among my most outstanding works is the research on physical punishment as a risk factor for aggressive behavior in children in early and late childhood. Likewise, I develop interventions aimed at vulnerable population to reduce the impact of risk factors through the promotion of protective factors in all areas of socialization of children and adolescents . She has published multiple articles on this area of study and participates as an advisor in different municipalities, schools and other institutions on mental health issues, especially in prevention of substance use and associated risk behaviors. He directs the research group of Psychological Processes and Neurosciences of the faculty.
