El síndrome de Takotsubo es caracterizado por una falla ventricular izquierda que auto-resuelve asociada con factores emocionales y/o físicos. La incidencia de Síndrome de Takotsubo en pacientes llevados a coronariografía es variable, y la frecuencia de esta enfermedad no es conocida en nuestra región.
