Resumen

The aim of the research is to perform an exploratory review showing studies evaluating the use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as an additional treatment to hormonal treatment to increase endometrial thickness in patients with infertility related to endometrial thickness. We conducted a literature search since 2015 to 2024, including studies that evaluated women with a history of failed fertility treatments with conventional methods, additionally gestational losses and decreased endometrial thickness. In the literature search we used databases such as Medline, Scopus and Google Scholar that helped to extract the necessary papers for the exploration. Additionally, we used Boolean terms to search for information that was later used in the PRISMA statement to synthesize the results obtained. In the reviewed studies we found that hormonal treatment combined with autologous platelet-rich plasma application could increase endometrial thickness and positively impact fertility of treated woman. Finally, it is concluded that more quality studies and larger number of patients in which PRP is included as an additional treatment to hormonal therapy are needed to determine its impact on endometrial thickness.
